This page offers advice for councils that are interested in using our services and providing a sustainable solution to their residents for disposal of used PV panels and solar equipment such as inverters, rail and other components.
Research indicates over 80% of solar panels removed from Australian systems are still functional.
Our priority is ALWAYS reuse to maximise the lifespan of these valuable pieces of tech.
Collection costs make it nonviable for individual and small quantities of solar panels to be sent to us directly, particularly from regional WA.
By working with local councils, panels can be dropped off by residents at a local waste management facilities and held until a viable quantity (approximately 80 panels) for transport to our depot is reached.

WHY SHOULD YOU UTILISE THIS SERVICE?
Western Australia is moving towards a low-waste circular economy as described in the state governments Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy. E-waste is a growing problem and in an attempt to tackle this, the WA government introduced an e-waste to landfill ban, phase 1 of which comes into effect on 1 July 2024. PV is not included in this phase, as the government recognises material recovery pathways need to be developed, this is where we come in!
Get ahead of the curve and make the most sustainable choice by ensuring all solar panels, and solar equipment removed in your LGA stay out of landfill. We aim to make this process as straightforward as possible and accessible to all local councils across WA.

HOW TO GET SOLAR PANELS TO US
Local councils outside Perth Metro region
Individual panels can be stored at a waste management facility and we can organise collection once four pallets of 1.5m high stacked panels have been stockpiled. The stack must be wrapped and strapped as per load restraint guidelines before being collected for despatch to our depot in Wattle Grove.

Facilities within 60km of our recycling centre (Wattle Grove) will mostly fall within our collection area, once the minimum quantity (approximately 80 panels) has been reached. The stack must be wrapped and strapped as load restraint guidelines prior to collection. You can also drop off panels and equipment to our Wattle Grove depot.
RECYCLING OTHER SOLAR EQUIPMENT
We do accept other solar equipment but this requires drop off at our Wattle Grove Depot.
